what's that sound?

i'm up the hill from bacong and i'm hearing a continuous unusual mechanical sound along a line that runs approximately due south of Valencia. i'd estimate it's either side of the ''north/south'' line on the map, maybe in the vertical oval on the attached map.

the sound reminds me of a very loud aquarium pump and goes 24 hours a day, sometimes loud and sometimes faint depending on the atmosphere, possibly a pump or something happening at the Nia Dam?

our neighbors think it has something to do with a long heavy duty monofilament line that landed here a few weeks back, they claim the line was attached to a mysterious kite and they're afraid to investigate but i've been hearing it for a month or more. and even before that, i heard a similar noise that sounded to be above the bacong/duma road, i thot it might have something to do with the Bacong/Valencia road construction project and meant to ask imp about it but forgot...

    anyone?

    thanks...

I just went on in front of my house in Bacong, at about 9:30 and could not hear anything. I am located close to Bambulo Resort. Imp stayed in side... asleep again

Kites yeah. But in non-farming area where I live, i think they are used jut to drive kano grazy; always a couple of them up there making noise. Pinoy like noise, panic when quiet...

Agreed. Peace, solitude, tranquillity, none of these things mean very much here. This is a very narcissistic society, with the mind set that the louder the noise is the more attention it will attract. A bit like an infant playing with an empty tin can and a stick, except that on getting older, the infantile obsession with noise remains, with a total disregard for how many others get inconvenienced by it. I too was in Malaysia a few weeks back - organised, efficient, orderly, courteous, respectful, considerate, the list could go on almost ad infinitum. On leaving Kuala Lumpur and arriving in Manila, I felt as though I had taken off in Utopia and landed in Jurassic Park.
The noise from Valencia could be from the geothermal plant, or connected to the road construction, or just some inconsiderate aerosol who wants to impress that his sub-woofer is louder and deeper than his neighbours.

Just bought an MP5 copy airsoft. Claims to have 50 meter effective range (I know first hand it will break skin at point blank range and shoot through 1/8th plywood at a couple feet). If you provide the Tanduay I'll bring the coke. We can take turns shooting at the kites......and any dogs, roosters or drunk locals (or anything else that might be making the/a noise) that happen to walk within eye shot. If the police are called you're on your own though.
