EVG panels going in for the ceiling We've gotten a good start on the EVG panels and plumbing rough in. Shawn
If that is going to be the case I hope you pressure test all the connections before they get buried in concrete!
Yes Sir, both pressure and leakage tests will be done...I want things done right so I am a bit anal when it comes to plumbing. Shawn
Yes, got most of my workers and the lovely wife a bit confused on what I want to do. The EVG panels are not being used as decking, I have a 4" roof slab going on top of the panels, I decided to use them for the thermal properties. Shawn
Electrical and plumbing going in Started on the rough in for the electrical, couple minor mistakes but the wife will be all over that tomorrow. I've been worried about the electrical and plumbing but am feeling much better about things now. Shawn
Knowdafish...after thinking about it I understand where you were going with decking; we will have rebar for both the top and bottom layer of mat which will have 4" of concrete for the roof slab. The EVG panels will be tied into the roof slab, but for me they are more associated with the ceiling and the purpose is mostly thermal. As I said previously, I have no experience with these panels so I "winging" it a bit; but think I have a pretty solid plan going forward. Shawn
Hi Shawn, I'm following your project with great interest and admire the team work betweem you and your wife. It must be pretty hard on here. I build my own house here in Amlan driving my wife< as translator and go between> nuts. Tomorrow I have to be in Tanjay and would like to have a look at the project if you don't mind. Please explane me where the site is.
The wife seems to be feeling a lot more stress than me really need to provide a lot of positive reinforcement. Especially now that I'll be there in less than 2 weeks she keeps wanting to wait on things until I get there; but I want the roof slab placed before I get there so I don't have to wait to pull the jacks and forms. If you are driving from the south it is about 5 minutes or so before Tanjay "City". There is a sari sari/canteen on the right side made out of mostly bamboo, a dirt road right before it is the way in. You will see a lime green or yellow house on the right...the area is pretty small so it should be easy to find my place once you turn on the little road. Shawn
Some pics from today From the pics today it was plain to see that they did not raise the formwork (or not enough) as I had asked for; so there will be some re-work to make that happen. They started on the bottom bars and I think they understand how to secure all the EVG panels together...just need to raise the forms up so I don't have a 6" slab when it should be 4". Shawn
