    Hi guys!
As a newcomer from Cebu I was wondering if anyone could steer me towards a notary for the purpose of stamping a deed of sale for me. When I lived in Cebu I knew where to locate all that kind of service but am at something of a loss here in Duma!

Many thanks in advance - Barry

I have used Attny Florence A. Tangente on the second floor of the Obdulla's Business Hotel. Excellent attorney and reasonable notary.

The attorneys about immigration office in Dumaguete will notarize anything, and record it too. ( I think one of them notarized Obama's birth certificate.) I am not sure how much legal scrutiny it will stand up to but it will be motorized for around 300 P. The City hall is suppose to motorize but sometime come of with a reason for not doing it.

With the notaries mentioned, do all parties need to be present? I mean do I have to bring the seller with me to get the documents notarized or will he just stamp them if I have a copy of the seller's ID with me? I bought my bike months ago and never thought to bring the seller with me to notarize the transfer.

Dave - I believe with the guys upstairs of the immigration office, you do not even need an ID....I have had them notorized things without out any ID....in fact I think last week they notorized something for me with your name on it that said you gave me that bike you are trying to transfer deed on. (joke) I will fill in the motorcycle id numbers and license plate number when you deliver the bike.
Really I have no idea what the good an notorized form is here when the whole process is so corrupt. I guess it is another "attorney" full employment law act that are typically found around the world for attorneys.
