Hi All, I'm thinking seriously of finally buying a new HD TV... only about a 32" / 35" screen. My questions are: Are different/ special for HD signal cable wall outlets ( called 'convenience' outlets here) really necessary? (Cignal wants 100Php extra monthly per HD outlet) Is a special type of splitter also needed as well? (Cignal won't install a splitter that they do not sell to you) Is a " HD TV READY" all set up internally, or is an additional box / accessory also required? Anyone have any experience with "G SAT" Satellite TV signal delivery and/or it's programing? Any ideas which store to check for the best / final cash price in Dumaguete area? Thanks to everyone.
HD TV Accessories Don , Just happen to have a new GE Amplified Antenna for HD TV for sale for only 575p . Now , if that would allow you to pick up a sufficient number of channels .....you could be home free ! Ron 09392228693
I use Cignal HD services & used the same cable ,outlets Etc that I used with the previous Dream setup with no change for the Cignal HD. this is the first I have even heard of a a HD outlet, So in answer to this portion of your question No... Most TV's are HD ready it says what it do's on the box. splitter ? ? Is this for multi room feed's ?
HD TV simply means 1080p. The standard coaxial cables that are used can easily handle that signal and do. There is no special cable needed for better definition and such. However there are other cables available elsewhere as not every country uses that standard especially as newer forms of cables are much less bulky and easier to manage. HD TV Ready simply means its all set up to provide an HD signal... assuming the signal it gets is HD. If you use a standard DVD player you won't be getting the HD capability that *could* be offered. If your cable box or sat connection is analog or gets signals less then HD (1080p) then a HD TV will not make such things HD quality. Most of the signals here are not true 1080p though.
