My brother in law was murdered in Tanjay this morning , shot 4 times by a mask wearing assailant , after he had just dropped my wife's sister and their son at school , shot to death on the main highway in Tugas , Tanjay . No one has any idea of motive or reason at this stage , he was a quiet unassuming type of guy , but this is the Philippines , so we will wait and see what the investigation uncovers , he was staying at my house , so I am extremely grateful that no other family members have been hurt or injured . When are they going to make it illegal to wear masks?? I have to admit that I find it unnerving when I see people with masks approaching my direction , am I the only one?? And I am no p*ssy , just deeply saddened by another example of how cheaply some people value the lives of others .

    Just Plain Crazy!

Tony, Words fail me on this. Sorry is not enough Yet it is all, I can Offer. it is not just the mask business, The Government has to do something about the Guns. My sincere Condolences to your Sister and her son.

Having been shot myself quite recently, I admit, that anyone coming up to me, from the Front sends shivers down my Spin, masked or not, especially, if I do not recognise them.

I hope that the Authorities pursue this with some Integrity, Due Diligence and a result, will be forthcoming

Keep us informed if you are able. The Motive is something, we all should be wary of, if there is one of course.

If not then we have another Madman on the loose.

Thanks JP , we are all at a loss for answers at the moment , but random killing would not be a thought I myself would entertain , the police have his mobile phone , so maybe they can find something there , we are so grateful that my wife's sister and her son are ok , we think the perpetrator has waited for Jayjams to be on his own on the motorcycle , he had just recently returned to Tanjay from Toledo , Cebu , where he had been working for 3 years , my gut feeling tells me this tragedy started there and followed him home to Tanjay , but this is sheer conjecture on my behalf , I do hope the truth comes out , but I also hope my sister inlaw doesn't suffer any further anguish in any way . Thanks for your thoughts JP.

Tony, very sad news and our condolences. As you said, the wife and baby are safe, but sadly without a husband and father. Hope that ended the situation and they somehow catch and prosecute the murderer.

My condolences also that's very sad for the family, I hope justice is served. Also 4 nights ago a woman returning home from work near my house was ambushed and shot 3 times and bag stolen. Lot's of rumors around, but who knows the real motive?

My condolences also. It is tough enough for the many children and mothers that are abandoned by men, much less those that seem to be abandoned needlessly. Of course if you look at the Mayor of Manila (ex-convicted President) you understand why child support laws have really not been enforced here.

Sorry to digress, I hope for the best for you sister-in-law, and son.

    Tony,

We offer our condolences to you and your wife. We heard about it yesterday morning, it really shocked folks around here. If I hear of anything of value through the bamboo telegraph I'll send you a PM.
