    What's an iPhone?

No experience but there is a place across the street from the new McD and next door to the Generic drug store that can do it. Done some other business with them and they seem ok.

I have had a few unlocked over the years but the price of unlocking a good one skyrocketed a couple years ago. I paid 1500 pesos to unlock the last one I did. After that I quit bringing them over.

Yup it has gone up a bit, 1500 would be great but been quoted around 6-7000p so far here. Also checked online and seems it's about what the charges are now.

Just check out something to do with apple or iTunes account to unlock iphones , I have 6 iphones and 3 of them just completed their contract with Telstra Australia , they said to just unlock them now with apple/iTunes account , haven't had time to try it yet.

You know you could learn to do it yourself. And paying 1500 pesos on a phone that would cost you 30k plus in the Philippines isn't a bad trade off. Anyone charging 6-7k to unlock a phone is scamming you. It costs about 20 bucks.....and you can easily do it yourself.

And now I get death threats from all the scum in cell phone shops charging 5 times the actual cost of unlocking an iphone.

Thanks mate but I have looked into this prob, I need a imei unlock and with iPhones the only person who can do this is apple, the other alternative is to jailbreak the phone which looks like the best bet at the moment.
Looked at a lot of vids on YouTube and a lot of them are scams.

Yeah, it seems that if you want to be a target to get soaked for cash, carry an Iphone. Carry in a raggedy old Nokia for the exact same steps, 30 pesos.

So jailbreak it then. My opinion, forget any product with an "i" in front of it. No company should be able to tell me what I can and cannot do with a device that I have purchased. I have the Nexus 5, for the price it can't be beat.....and you don't have to worry about some silly company telling you that it can only be used (or not be used) on their network.
