Has anyone in the last 6 months tried to have U.S. or other foreign company send anything via FedEx to Dumaguete? I just read a post that said that there is no more fedex in Philippines??! Are Fedex shipments being sent through another carrier or what?
Fedex shipments are delivered by air21. Don't send anything of value via Fedex, you will get raped in customs. Larry
I just received a laptop shipped from Canada via "Canada Postes." That's what it says on the box anyways. It was sent via air and cost a bit over $60. Person who shipped it put "computer parts" on the box. The person who shipped it said it would take 7 - 10 days, but it took a little over 3 weeks to get to me. Apparently it went via air to Manila and then went snail mail the rest of the way. The guy who handed me the package in the Sibulan post office asked me what was in it and I said computer parts. I was charged 50 pesos to pick it up.
Air21 ? I was told, last year, by the folks at the Air21 shop "Mail and More" on Real st, that they are no longer receiving FedEx packages and they referred me to MDS. Has this arrangement with FedEx and Air21 regrouped? Or maybe mislead/or I misunderstood. I've tested this FedEx to MDS twice so far, and it worked ok. But it was for just documents from the US. Haven't tried a box type of package yet.
Beats me. Fedex has always passed their deliveries here off onto someone else, and they changes partners every year or so, but they always arrive. We have never done anything but documents either, we know better than to send boxes that way. Larry
FedEX lost their MNL hub not too long ago and now more or less have to use another carrier within the Phils. (I guess)
