In the city tonight. I know the bikers are all in town, it's US independence day, USED to be Philippine independence day, and now is Filipino/American friendship day, (which few Filipinos have ever heard about) so where's the party?

Hundreds of big bikers across Visayas region are expected to converge in Dumaguete City on July 4 to 6 for the 24th Unity Ride of the Confederation Member Clubs.
Among the activities scheduled in this event include: July 4 – Opening of Exhibits along the seaside Rizal Boulevard (1:30 PM); Southern Unity Ride to be led by Big Biker Congressman Henry Teves (2 PM); Children’s Ride Of Their Lifetime to be led by Visayas Confederation President Rolando Ting and NFMC Chairman Manolet Lamata (4:30 PM); and Free and Easy Time with band entertainment (6PM).
On July 5, Open Exhibit starts at 10AM followed by Negros Oriental Governor Coastal Ride to be led by Negros Oriental Governor and big biker Roel Degamo; and a dinner at 6PM with Gov. Degamo, Visayas Confederation President Rolando Ting, NFMC Chairman Lamata, registered members of the Visayas Confederation and special guests.
The 24th Unity Ride closes the 3-day event on July 6.
The event is organized by the ORGANI CZAR Pilipinas Global with event director Toots B. Jimenez Jr./WDJ

Someone mentioned our good friend Dick was organizing this, please tell him they forgot to mention his vast contribution to the event.

Another needless demonstration of "potence" between the legs of "Macho" riders with the help of a heap of metal that is offensive to any "normal" person, that the locals are getting into it(the ones that can afford it, surprise, there are more and more), is nothing more but disgusting...

For some of us it has nothing to do with being "macho" but simply the enjoyment of riding a motorcycle. There are many losers who do it just to be loud and get attention....but that is not limited to motorcycle riders.

People have hobbies, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone then I see no problems with it.

Simple Mind , I don't know if it is worth going there , but I will , some people paint pictures , some people carve sculptures , some people climb mountains , and some build / modify / customise or just ride motorcycles , the component of that , that you are referring to is probably .0001% of the people involved in their interest / passion of motorcycles , and when you say offensive to "normal" person
it doesn't make a lot of sense , because I have everybody from children to police officers to every different type of person you can imagine admire and want to sit on , and get their picture taken etc on one of my motorcyles (I have 5 ) it is a 1950 Panhead Harley Davidson , If you have a truck load of apples and find 1 bad one , it doesn't mean the rest of them are no good either.

Why the hate? I'm a pretty "normal" person as far as I know, yet i don't find anything offensive and/or disgusting about the said activity.

Near as I can tell, SM is the only normal person around. As far as I am concerned, normal is boring, it's much more fun to be abnormal!

Now, back to replacing that muffler with a megaphone....

You can tell the out of towners...an hour ago we watched a biker-garbed woman at least in her 60s walk across the blvd road like no one dared hit her..TWICE! On her 2nd trip she almost go T-boned by a family on a scooter. You know it was a close call because the scooter driver was shouting HEY at her more than once. (and locals almost never complain)

The lack of self preservation evidently can carry over into the well to do crowd as well. I don't know how she made it these many years without getting run over.

Your wealth won't make a difference how badly you get hurt if you walk out in front of traffic without looking ..

I have no issue with bikers myself (bikers those with big bikes). But they are fairly pointless in the Philippines besides to show off. In the US and many other countries that actually have good roads and large highways they are great. But in the Philippines outside a few Manila highways its fairly useless other then showing off.

I had planned to go eat lunch today at Why Not but that changed quick as I reached Why Not to see tons of bikers in all the seats, parked outside, and locking up traffic as many others were riding through as well. As I'm fitting in with a few trikes and a couple other locals inbetween biker groups I guess as a bunch more came up behind us when looked like was passed, a bunch zoomed right on past blocking the other side and causing a few locals horns to go off and some shouting at them (locals rarely complain remember).

I'll sit here and complain when its some school blocking off the streets, some church, or even a gang of bikers.

I remember a few years ago some issues with a few biker groups. 3 groups I knew of, one was mostly larger bikes but allowed any bike in, as long as you liked to ride and could keep up that 100cc honda wave could tag along. Another group was 1000cc and another 800cc minimum to get in. The 800cc group didn't take much else to join but the 1000cc group you had to have a referral and then go through a process before they considered you a member. Really, just boy clubs.

Good roads for riding a sports bike:
    1. Northern Luzon. AC to Olongapo. Many sections north of Castalejos.
    2. South of Manila to Batangas.
    3. Southern Luzon. South of Naga City has some of the best roads in the Philippines.
    4. Samar. Has some great roads.
    5. Southern Leyte.
    6. Dumaguete to Cebu. (east or west cost. the east side isn't as good for sports bikes though)
    7. Dumaguete to Bacalod. (Depending on construction and if you go through Mabinay or San Carlos)
    8. Dumaguete to Sipalay. (Great since all the construction has finished.)
    9. Parts of Mindoro Island (The only really bad sections were under construction and should be good by now)
    10. Pinay Island. (many parts of the island were under construction but most of it is a very nice ride)
    11. Masbate. (I drove around about half the island waiting while waiting for a ferry and had a lot of fun there)
    12. Mindanao. (I haven't personally been there but I've heard they have some of the best roads in the country)

These are just roads I've been on that are good for sports bikes. If you ride a 600cc sport touring bike 95 percent of the country is a fun and exciting ride.

So tell me, where exactly it is you have been in this country? And what is it you consider "good roads"? Sounds like you think long straight and smooth is your definition of "good". The best roads IMO are slow curving mountain blacktop roads. (I'm a sports bike guy though. I enjoy leaning the bike over as far as I can.) I'll admit those roads are very hard to come by outside of the western world though.

Boy clubs? How is that any different that any other club in the world? There are memberships for everything; boats, cars, motorcycles, bars, charity organizations, religion. All clubs. They all have requirements you must follow, some more strictly and numerous than others, does that make them all boys? Why don't you check out the list of rules you are supposed to follow to be considered a Christian (there are 10 big ones, but all those little side rules can be a pain in the @ss. I'd rather buy a 1000cc motorcycle than follow that "don't spill your seed" rule). I personally don't believe in joining motorcycle clubs but I don't have a problem with people who wish to be a part of one.

If you go through life getting pissed at everyone who causes a traffic jam, then you really shouldn't be in the Philippines. You will be perpetually pissed.
