Trying to get my mind off the tragedies shown all day on CNN, I focused on some of my all time rock bands. Too hard to rank (I'm sure you have others) so my unordered list of 10might be:
    Led Zeppelin
    Pink Floyd
    Aerosmith
    Scorpion
    The Beatles
    Guns and Roses
    The Eagles
    The Doors

    and a couple real oldies
    The Platters
    The Four Seasons

Apologies to the Journey and Air Supply fans

Love your list but how could you leave off AC/DC, Black Sabbath (or anything Ozzy has done)...KISS could get a mention as I think they really started metal and took rock to another level. Tons of other bands that I loved back then.

only 10 in the years since the sixties..is really tough I needed to get Santana in there

    The Who
    Metallica
    Rolling Stones
    Led Zeppelin
    AC/DC
    Queen
    Pink Floyd
    Guns N Roses
    Nirvana
    Santana

would have been easier if you picked a subset..hard rock..etc

Forgot to say...like Journey and have them on my playlist. Getting old school, how about some Bread or Jim Croce?

Points taken Shawn. I Also left out the Stones. I added a couple of old timers bands you may never have heard of. The list is actually never ending, I like your additions.

I'm 44 now but grew up with parents who loved rock so it was always on the radio or on the 8 track in the van...

More great additions made me go pull up some on youtube to listen to...found it funny that the wife has heard most of these "older" songs.
