Many, Many, bands, were influenced by one name, I don't see mentioned here. I was so very Fortunate in 1958, My father was then the C/O at R.A.F Mildenhall in the UK, up the road aways, was the US Airbase. R.A.F Lakenheath. my Sister (who got invited via our Dad) took me (I was 10)to see something, that probably changed me, in so many Ways. I heard music. Live. It enthralled me, gave me a new look on my early life. You can imagine, my young grief the Following year. I had actually met and shook hands, with a great man. Along with some British Acts the show (An addition to the Tour Dates) was organised by the US Air Force for their men ( LONNIE DONEGAN, VAL DOONICAN and a few more, were on that bill also.[some US bands did not Appear that night] but mainly US performers. I am of course, talking about the Crickets ( With Buddy Holly) now there, is a name, to be Remembered. What a night for me to Remember. Hardly a day goes bye, when I don't hum or Play a Buddy Tune. A poster of that Tour, for all to see: View attachment 11167 This was the Full, tour poster. Not all appeared at Lakenheath. ( The Everlys were Brilliant) morning All, JP
