There are probably better articles than the one I attached. I caught a brief topic on CNN (I need to get off that channel, but Fox not for me) that talked about problems a baby might be born with if from an elderly father over age 45. A little late for me but but hyper activity is one of the problems the article talked about, and I believe my boy has this and will bring it up at his next checkup. Anyone else seeing anything similar? Thanks

my son was born when I was 56 years and daughter was born one month shy of my 60th birthday. No hyper activity and both doing great in school.

I was 40, when my youngest was born, I went through a similar issue when she was 3 years old., I took her to the Doctors for some testing. Hmmmmmmmmmm it would appear that she was a normal High Spirited child. The Doctor then proceeded to Check me out.
Seems, it was just my exhausted state, that was not coping too well with a Youngster. ( It was then 18 months before I was to retire, from the Air Force [ Boy was I,in a Mess)

Pat, you have been through alot. I ask, are you expecting too much of yourself here?

    Chin Up me ole matey.

Jack, no expectations, just hoping I didn't pass on anything bad to him, as suggested by the article. Just another thing to worry about, given he is super active and non-stop motion. I need to sot reading those types of articles and start planning for his wedding in 20 years.

Pat, I hope I am still around hear about it...:D
My experience when my daughter was about 2/3 yrs was that certain foods/ sweets would make her hypo.
Just keep an eye on your son's mannerism after treats....JB

Hope you are not offended, but what I see with the parents of these kids half (pinay half foreigner) is that the kids are spoiled rotten; they run around like wild animals in public places like eateries etc. with the parents just looking on like stunned mullets. They are treated like something special by the mom and family, even like a celebratory, I am a father of 2 and hope to be a father of 3 when the time is right, and I know my kid will not be treated like that, and so many kids eat those disgusting red hot dog and processed foods full of whatever chemicals and candy on tap (sugar poisoning), there is your hyper activity cause. Just my input no offence intended guys

No offence taken. In my case, at least part of what you opined applies. My boy is indeed spoiled and if I am not at the mall my wife will let him eat one of those disgusting red hot dogs occasionally. Other than that his diet is pretty good, aside from the rice with his fish. We are careful with the drinks, yogurt juice or pineapple juice and one treat a day. We don't, however, let him run wild at the mall, maybe he will try when he gets older (he will be 3 in Sept.) The celebrity thing is sort of mixed with the in-laws and my wife but he has 3 cousins close to his age living in our other compound and he is treated as an equal, as it should be. I appreciate your response Brian.

It's not just the foreigner kids. I have seen a lot of spoiled local kids as well.

The worst is that a lot of these kids running amok look so awkward doing so. They have so much baggage to carry in their frames that they can't seem to walk or run right. Thanks Mom and Dad for setting up the kid for a lifelong struggle and early health problems.

I also notice that the Filipina's who have money in the Silliman area look generally more beefy than their counterparts from poorer areas.

My thoughts and others it is an outward display that the family has money, i see these kids in the mall and other places and just want to open my mouth and say hey that is child abuse, but hold it back, I agree it totally distroys the childs future.
