Here's a suggestion that was alluded to a few months ago but ignored and the predictable happened. Stop the "chat room" behavior and return the site to something useful instead of a few chums giving their opinions about world events, philosophy, etc. when absolutely nobody cares and drives away possible members who read the drivel but would otherwise contribute. Apparently some members spend their days itching to post because it makes them feel important. Try asking yourself "...can anyone use this information I'm posting or is it my self aggrandizing opinion?" If you spend your day consumed with expressing yourself on this forum you are probably one of the contributors who has reduced the site's benefit.

Just look at the activity of the forum today, are you seriously arguing that the members active contributing with postings are hurting the success of the business, get real, how about not posting anymore at all, would that hurt the business even more...
Times are changing fast, what was a hit yesterday will be forgotten tomorrow, this forum was ones a hit and then it was more or less neglected by it's former owner and the rest of story is known, if it can be revived, I don't know, I invested a small amount to help Larry and Rony but as everybody active in the forum now knows, it's slippery out there...

    "...get real?"
The argument is about the quality and content of the posts. Who cares about the opinion of a small group of members regarding world events? Is the viewer really interested in an inane post full of middle school philosophy or would that person like helpful information?

If one looks up my posts, one will find much useful information, but we do not have everyday new useful information, do you...

"...we do not have everyday useful information..."
Exactly my point. There is no urgency to post daily. Wait until you have smething to contribute without going into opinions. Mechanics, immigration, house building, plumbing, electrical problems etc.-the list goes on- make the wheels spin here.If someone has a personal experience with which others could identify, great. I appreciate what many of you have done to keep the site going but that shouldn't include daily irrevelant posts. This isn't a presonal indictment of anyone but the recent mess was forseeable and unnecessary had posters kept to what's important to the forum.

The easiest way to stop the irrelevant information relating to Dumaguete- Philippines is not to read the post. I am familiar with the post who post world wide gibberish so I just do not read post or thread started by them. Hopefully someday they will get the idea.
As far as increasing the number of post, I am not sure that is the right approach because the more of the gibberish I see, the more I a driven away from the forum. The forum has changed from trying to convey information to just being a drama site for some so they are more posts to drive up revenue to protect their investment. There certainly can be a better use of time than to create drama for the protection of few Members's financial investments. Personally my posts have probably been reduce by over 50% in the last couple of months, that can not be good for anyone's investments.
I do like the forum, but do not like the gibberish posts.

Maybe an "political opinion" section could be added.

Maybe adding a political opinion section, with posts attributed to the news sources, as all news is slanted one way or another. Filling the forum with quantity as opposed to controversial drama is not particular helpful in the long run. The Barrio experiment can attest to the effectiveness of posting drama, as it almost brought the forum down and certainly put a heavy emotional burden on Larry and Rony that they did not need in their lives. It takes a lot emotional energy to run a good business, we do not have to add to that burden. Once that emotional energy is exhausted then most business fail.

When considering your "useful information"posts, simple mind , the word "inane" comes immediately to mind.
