    Simple solution. Make the political section password protected or an opt-in area of the forum, so that it doesn't show up in the feed unless you have signed into that section. Have the same rules apply to that as you do the normal forum (not a free-for-all that the barrio was). Assign a member that is active in the politics section a moderator to keep it clean, if you can find someone willing.

    Most of the beneficial information comes not necessairly from the user who feels the need to post thousands of times but rather from the occasional poster or the person with a project- maybe from someone with expertise or a shared problem or an answer to a question. Having a special thread for the disenchanted seems silly given the nature of the forum. Why does that person need to post at all? Maybe a secret password for the deranged so they can give their profound insight into politics or world events. Sorry to sound sarcastic but does the forum really need special sections so some may vent?

    Better yet...stick to the name of this website....Dumaguete Info....all political/religious/etc..topics not related to Dumaguete specifically, gets deleted. Save those discussions for Mcdo.

    Another approach would be to stop responding to the "churning" threads and posts

    I agree with what you stated, except it seems that they are some who must post to cause controversy and conflict for what ever reason; investment protection, ego, etc. I do not think the motive if to vent as much as it is to increase the number of posts, so the advertising revenue increases, and their investment is protect. I am not sure that is a winning formula for business success as there seems to be growing disenchantment with the BS. Quality usually wins over large quantities of trash. Give those who are churning the forum the freedom to cause their problems, but in a isolated section so the rest of us, can just avoid that area of the forum, and do not have avoid the forum all together in you want peace of mind. As has been stated by Shadow, and others, if you don't like the posts then do not read them. I tried that for about six weeks and my outlook on life was much more positive

    However the controversial, conflicting and dramatic political post seem to be scattered through out the forum, not to just one area. If this type of post were isolated to it would be much easier for those of us that want to avoid them to do so, and those who want to live in their world of political chaos enjoy themselves is isolation. Unfortunately the 'deranged" do not seem to get the gentle hints that they may be hurting the forum, which will result in the less post. A better idea than just not reading them maybe to stop responding to them. That is another choice we all have also.

    So basically, you want this place to be a nursing home. I'll ask my account to be deleted right now if this is going to turn into a bunch of grandpas talking about their whittling sculptures, where to find best brand of diapers, what plants grow in their gardens and how much better it was "back in the good ol' days".

If you had bothered to look around, this forum is broken up into different categories, and there is a political section already made ("News from around the world" or something of the sort). I post threads in the appropriate category, if others do not then that's on moderation to fix. If you don't like those categories, don't click on those categories. Another simple solution.

    Whilst I agree with a lot written here and will disagree with some, I wonder why it has only come up now. When Larry announced that He and Rony would take over the site, they as a team gave, ample opportunity to air these types of Things. Very few, took advantage of this.

    Now, he has decided to take some time out, we discuss Their site, literally behind their backs. But in Open Forum

    Come on folks, if we have anything at all to say, lets be fair to them and do it off the Board, If this continues, it will I am sure end up, another Bar room Brawl that can only put another nail in the coffin of DI
