Id like to pick some brains here that have different training that I. I know diddly squat about household water and electric..that covers that !

If I had decent water pressure it would go a L O N G way in improving my day to day attitude..not to mention the comfort of standing in a hot shower..*sigh*

Ok..Im renting..water pressue is from nil to none. Can absolutely nothing be done?. In general Im thinking that only a tad more pressure would actually turn on the wall mounted hot water heater. Sometimes the pressure runs through and sometimes it cant get that high ( about 8 feet from ground level ). My landlady was nice enough to reconize the lack of pressure here..they even addressed it.. sort of.. They upped the water line from what must have been 3/8 to 1/2 inch.. I got really excited when I saw them digging up that stretch of tiny blue pipe..Nope didnt help. Town water. I cant figure out how they can bill me..it never gets here..

There is a holding tank and a pump to fill that tank from a well about 100-130feet from the house. the run and the height of the tank makes trickle water to the house..dats it. So without a crap load of money..expense ..time ..effort and perminate fixtures like a pressurized tank ..can anything be done?

My unfamiliar and there for vivid imagination tells me things like why not just an inline pump just outside the house that I flip a switch and it pushes water hard enough to get the head it needs..we all like a good head ..dontchaknow?
But the part of me that tells me dont be stupid it will just blow up with too much pressure if its not running etc etc.all kinds of things

So is there hope to do *something* with a pump only bigger than an aquarium size thinghy and min parts and easy add and removing for us RENTERS.. ??O-|

Your landlady needs to foot the bill for a pressure pump. One will boost the pressure to whatever it is set at as they are adjustable. 40 psi is about right and WILL NOT blow apart plastic pipes that are properly fitted. They are available at almost any decent hardware store here and are not difficult to plumb or wire.

At aking ang Asawa's house in Quezon City, she has a water station, as an addition to the house. After treating the water thru osmosis, a portion of the "waste" goes to a holding tank mounted above the roof. When we wish to take a shower she will call out to a helper or me, NAWASA NA DOW( or similar sounding words). So either myself or a helper or water station guy, goes outside and turns a valve and it doubles the pressure. I can only assume it combines the city water with the holding tank. Most if not a majority of the city water goes directly to the water station for treatment. The rest of the house uses the holding tank water.

yeah Thanks..but.. ..yaddy yaddy..*In a perfect world all good things are possible*..

    Now back to here..lol

I am darned sure my landlady has made all the investment and upgrade she intends to.

I seek some higher level/more semi~techno info in 3 areas

    1. How much will this cost me.. an *informed guess-tuh-ment* is just fine!

    2. Can I expect local to be able to make this type of installation with out a lot of f*-ups and redo's ( I have had the worst case scenerio already in a RP plumbing job that left me without water for months.)

    3. Are we talking a permanent installation or one that can go with me down the road?

Thanks in advance for any helpful hints !!

It seems to me that someone is selling (second hand) just what you need bcs he's leaving. Pump and pressure tank.
He may give you instructions how to install.

    Ed,

This is a subject we talked about when we met up and one that I think a number of folks are dealing with. The lack of water here, to be honest sucks. I have posted a few times about water and how we are going to deal with it, but we are building so a different situation, but the lack of city water was my reasoning for a well.

As mentioned previously, an inline pump and pressure tank would be your best bet and a coupling to reconnect the line if you leave your rental so you can take it with you.

    Hello,
I have gotten estimates and had good quality plumbing and electrical work done by Polaris on Silliman Extension. Polaris sells plumbing and electrical supplies.
You could pay for the improvements and ask your landlady if she would deduct the cost over several months rent.

OK.. Im am a happy camper. Mokum pointed me to a sale he spotted on OLX.. I went..jotted down the number and txt'd the number. this past Thursday nite. Friday the fellow me me in Rob.Mall lunchtime. He had all the part necessary to cure my ailment he assured me. So he followed my back home and checked out my version of crappy water pressure. Low and behold he pointed out to me the uh.. *perplexing-pinoy setup*. With a few more lengths of pipe fixtures and glue he could make it happen that I could get water pressure to the house. Also that he would be glad to do it for me...handle the project.. I wanted to be over joyed at the moment but hate it when things dont work out .. That was yesterday..Friday

Today he showed up tools and parts in hand and I now have water pressure house wide and hot showers..well *HOT d*mn* I say...*LOL*

Ok here is the deal..if someone wishes to take it. He still has the pump/pressure tank etc and the tools to set this up for someone else.. And I *KNOW* there are others that really tire of dip baths..So he will come not only with parts but will install it..You can work out the payment ..he is most agreeable..Oh and he speaks English..or a version of it..lol.he is Aussie..heheh

    His name is Chris
    his globe number is 0916 645 5149

has a working knowledge of pumb and electric and tools to go with
and this *IS* a recommendation for getting your water pressure decent !
