Thank you Larry,I will pass it on, are we talking about Citizenship for Jessica or her maybe child?? You know, there is more to this, than meets the eye. I guess, it will continue ! JP
I don't have kids yet, nowhere near child-ready! Just speculating when it comes to the children questions!!! But I am very interested in citizenship for me.
Neither, I guess, as the laws will probably change at least once again between now and the time any child Jessica bears will turn 18. It does not apply to Jessica, as she was not born here. It would possibly, however, apply to the case your lawyer friend mentioned. Larry
Whoa!!!!!!!!!!!!!.... is what I say when riding a horse and stopping him...her..... Don't give up your citizenship...my god woman...slow down...just live here and make the most of it...don't spin web and get tangled in it....
All well and good, I have wondered and thought about it (citizenship....not kids) myself. The money, time and requirements wouldn't be a problem for me. The only thing stopping me from starting the process is my status with my government. I have some "extra" rules with my government when it comes to benefits that I receive. The second I applied for a dual citizenship they would find out and I would likely lose those benefits. I would suggest that you not burn bridges with your birth country, regardless of your current grievances with them. Remember that things do change, there might be a time in the future that you do not have beef with the way your country operates. Wouldn't you feel silly if you had burned a bridge that ended up being a path to a utopia? (Yeah, I know it's unlikely, but you get the point.) I personally like to keep all bridges standing in case there is a river made out of sh*t that I need to cross.
What is the attraction for becoming a Filipino Citizen? What is the attraction of falling pregnant to a Filipino Man? My dear just enjoy yourself but just remember one day its gonna end in disaster. Its not a place for good girls.
I was swallowed up with the Philippines 10yrs ago, planned to sell up and move there permanently. That was till I met my inlaws I am still drawn back there every other year, oh to be young again. As was said "dont burn your bridges" just enjoy the moment. PS anybody want to buy a lot in Cagayan? :D......JB
BTW...for anyone wondering...U.S. citizens who also qualify for Dual citizenship, do not have to renounce their U.S. citizenship and do not lose Federal benefits.
Jessica, you have heard from a good number of people who have been around the block a few times. You mentioned in an earlier post about waxing poetically as to why you don't see any foreign woman with a Filipino man. I will not cast any disparaging remarks about Filipino men. Find a Filipina and inquire. I know I was lucky enough to find, and fall in Love and marry a fine Filipina Woman. She is within a few years in age of me(depending on what day of the week I ask her):D She was a single Mom by choice. Her 1st Bana cheated on her multiple times as did the father of her anak. I am not saying its a distinct pattern, I am just saying there are an awful lot more stories similar to her's. Take it for the few pesos it's worth.
