Got pulled over at the check point in Banilad on the highway going to Robinson's. Luckily I was wearing my helmet and I had an original drivers license so I didn't get a fine and the policeman remained polite
They check helmets? I have been stopped twice in Duma in the last 9 months and all they want is paperwork. They never mentioned that I had no helmet.
Well I was wearing a helmet at the time so I can't comment if they were checking for helmets but driving license was required. Maybe they should check at the LTO for fake licenses, hahaha theres plenty in there.
if it's a police checkpoint they only check for license and registration. If it's an LTO checkpoint they check for helmet, side mirror, etc. aside from license and registration.
You mean you don't check your noggin for a helmet when you get on your bike? I always find it quite noticeable, never understood why I would need someone else to check to see if it was there for me.
I believe that the police are just as capable of writing a ticket for not wearing a helmet as the LTO is. Maybe they don't prioritize it but I am quite sure it is a national law (just as the no smoking in public areas is). I could be wrong though. To me it seems like the same logic that people use when they think can run across the state line and the police will just stop following you because it's out of their "jurisdiction".
