Well, I’m glad that you introduced DI forum to your daughter, I did the same too but she doesn’t have a time to read, instead, I share her my thoughts and some important update, infos, intellectual multi cultural differences, and tsismis.

If I’m an expat I would in courage my asawa or gf to read this forum, I’m pretty sure it will make a good “CHANGE” and if we want to see wider results.. all locals must read the forum too!
It is Fun and Interesting in DI, i must say… I was a bit skeptical in posting recently as I wanted to be in a safer zone.. In fact, I enjoyed the sensitive thread- it shows a lot of how we are concerned with each other…. Mine, was, I worried this couple of months where my darling husband would go for his Poker and Peace time! He usually spend 3-4 hours to have his Peace time everyday! Please guys “No more dramas” It is getting Stressful in our house! I need a F…..g garden bar that my darling husband can enjoy his drink, poker and SEE pretty young girls!!! :dnr:

 

Seems a long time ago that I started this Thread but I am adding this here because once again it is DI that made a Difference. It is I guess no Secret that I, as I am sure many others, do have at times Problems with Teenagers but Thanks to Dustin of late, mine has come to me and said. Dad is all the US like what it says here cos if it is I don't want to go but stay here with you and Mama. Of course I said I did not know but the UK is getting the same.

Now we all getting to know Dustin's Humour but in things like this there is always an element of truth so TM sat me down last Night and said I hadn't realized that it is not only Dumaguete & the Philippines in General that suffers these things.
From this I gathered that she now appreciates what parents do for their children to protect them from the things they read about.

I guess it is all about Money in the End as You (Dustin) have the opportunity to work away and get that much needed cash something maybe the men at Home can't do for whatever reason as your Post suggested. Most of us are here are on Pensions but it is so nice to have our Children all of a sudden wake up and realize that things are not as bad as they think for them.
She asked me if many were like me , in that I was in Spain Working and sending money Home, Of course I know there are many still doing that and Hopefully it will all come right in the End as it has for me and quite a few I know.

So less rambling, Thank You Dustin for your Opening Post on a Subject that has helped no end to open My daughters eyes and see that "The "Grass is not always greener, on the other side"

LOL I admire both the Original Post and this Answer but for me just now after all the problems of earlier in the Year, I am Grateful that she wants to be at Home and the Post Did have an effect on this.
She goes to College in about 18 months then I guess I will be having a few night mares on Paying for it if she wants to go abroad, so for now I will take the Opportunity of relaxing a little while keeping my guard up
