My wife and I will be visiting family and friends in the Dumaguete area for about three weeks in October, our first visit since March 2013. At the time of our last visit (March 2013) there were numerous and frequent check points along the National Highway, north and south of Dumaguete, and the purpose of these check points was the see if motorcyclists were wearing a helmet. My wife and I always wear a helmet so we had no problems at any of the check points. I'm curious to know if the police are still setting up check points or if the 2013 check points were more or less politically motivated in light of the coming elections. Could someone please give me some information regarding the current, daily rate for renting a motorcycle on a 24 hour basis. We always rent for the entire length of our visit (about 20 days this year) and try to negotiate a lower, average daily rate. Thank you and kind regards, Bubby
Good morning "Bubby", I have not been in town for the last couple days and was hoping that somebody else would give the information you want, I will check today and tell you later of the outcome...
Many thanks, simple mind! I will look forward to more information from you or another member. Kind regards, Bubby
Hi again, I was at the place opposite from YAMAHA along Perdicesstreet, there are several around that corner Perdices/Santa Rosastreet, I was quoted 4000PhP for a 20 days rent, I had a look at his register and noted that he gives good rebates and you should be able to get it for about 3500PhP... Check the bike, a Honda XRM 125ccm, the one they had left had a bold rear tire, try to get there early in the morning before all the sales agents are up, or arrange something for the following day, for 20 days you want a nice bike...
Thank you Simple Mind for the excellent information. I am familiar with the Perdice St. / Santa Rosa St. intersection and will have no difficulty finding the rental agency. I appreciate your taking the time to get this information and for sending it along to me. Many thanks and kind regards, Bubby
Good advice, Princeton! For about p1,250.00/week I will be sure to put on my best smile! Heh, heh! Bubby
