Answer - you sort of misread my post, no tuna belly found at the Bacong fish stands, but as stated she buys tuna in Bacong, and she only buys scrimp at Rob., other fish at Dgte fish market.
We're 4 years now here in Valencia a nearby town of Dumaguete City, we always have good seafood, meat vegs and fruit supply. Fish like pink and yellowfin tuna, red snapper, grouper, kingfish, dorado, mackarel are always available from 7-10am and 3-5pm at dumaguete wet market. Large crabs and Prawns is always available daily in a very reasonable price, once you get close contact with the seller you may take his number then you will get the best quality. now for meat, we buy beef tenderloin at robinsons and Mr. dario at wet market. For fruits and veg we buy it here in Valencia evry sunday at the town plaza and infind it cheap and some are organic specially from those small vendor that cannot afford fertilizer. Today, i had the best yellow fin tuna medium size 140/ kilo bought it from Valencia market. Life is good! :dnr:
The tuna at robs is old and grey, would never eat that stuff, they only get fish delivery once a week I think on a wed! Always best where pato buys in bacong, always fresh and nice red meat.
The meaning of the word " FRESH" speaks Volumes! Davy, I could not Agree with you more, this is one of the main reasons, people in the midlands, of the UK are not fish eaters. it could be 2/3 days old when it gets there. Fresh is Fresh. End of Story. To me, (please tell me if I am wrong) Anything caught today should be eaten today or deep freeze [if that is ok to do] I know there are exceptions as in Game meat {That should be hung for a day or two} Supermarkets are just not The Place to buy anything, that we can call Fresh, IMHO. Crislyn does it right in my book. Shell fish and the Like, well that is a different Story. JP
Nice to see you posting again charlie! OY! GEEZER ! JOKES, have their own Forum:p but I know, you knew that
Does someone know how to correct the spelling of this thread ? And no, it is not seefood either. Or is saefood the U.K. English spelling versus the American English spelling seafood ?
