Link: Farnsworth-Munsell 100 HueColor Vision Test | Colblindor Color blindness is pretty common among men (1 in 12 some level of it) and less common in women (1 in 200). I recently found out that my gf and one of her sisters is color blind. It's very likely that several of her brothers have it as well, but they haven't taken the test yet. I have always had a suspicion she was color blind because of the wardrobe choices but I was always told by her that it was some sort of fashion thing I didn't understand. "Fashion-fashion di ba!", "Ok, hun, whatever you say" and I let it go at that. But then one day she came home with a pair of shoes that made me say, "Holy Ronald McDonald Batman!". She swore they matched her shorts and shirt....which were all 3 very different shades of red (the shirt was actually a purple) and her sister was backing her up. I thought at first they were messing with me just to see how far they could take this fashion-fashion nonsense and see what I would let slide. But after a short debate on the "matchingness" of the colors I remembered about color blindness. They refused the idea they were color blind. The only thing left to do was to give them links to different tests online (because if I just gave them one they would say I created the test in some sort of elaborate prank on them). So the link above is the test that finally convinced them they had a problem.....and that final approval of wardrobe choices should be ran by me prior leaving the house...unless they wanted to look like two circus clowns walking around town. Ok, they didn't agree to that, but I made my point and got them to admit they had a problem, something that is no small task in my house. I had to take the test to prove that I wasn't color blind to them (because if they have a problem surely they can't be the only ones and I must have a problem of equal or greater concern than theirs). I scored a 32 on the test which falls under normal color vision. Of course not scoring a 0 resulted in them ridiculing me and saying I'm not perfect (gotta love that Filipino insecurity....of course I can't let that slide and had to remind the two Ronald McDonald twins that I might not be but at least I don't go around looking like "that"O--O). Ha.
Yes, Wyre a simple online colour blindness test confirmed for me, why I didnt get the job at my local Airport! (LIverpool) I went along for my interview answered all the questions correctly etc and then told the job is yours so long as you past the colour test! to my shock and horror I failed. I said cant believe it, I have never had an accident in 45yrs driving. It was explained to me it only takes certain colours to effect your ability to spot things through the screening process. hence I lost the job opportunity and accepted it was time to retire after all.:(
