Afghan called me out the gate to take a look at his equipment and brought me this:

It was lamb kebab I believe. I ate the second one just now and it had some liver in it. Surprisingly, I have yet to regret eating it. Give it some time.

I can only hope for your sake, the liver was associated with the same lamb

It's better to just not ask. I've always liked the way Afghans spiced their food. I certainly appreciate them giving me the food as they barely have enough to feed themselves. It was a huge gesture from them and I know they really appreciate my helping them out. I go the extra mile for that unit. I'll throw them a case of Red Bull next time I see them.

No matter what Country your in, returning kindness with kindness goes a long way. I never forget, I am a Guest in their Country.

Well technically.......I'm not a guest. We weren't exactly "invited". lol

But yes, it does go a long way. These guys live a hard life in a very harsh environment. It definitely makes you appreciate how lucky you were to be born in a country that's not completely screwed up. It sucks to see how much these guys want their country to change and the hope they have for that but you know that it probably isn't going to happen. All this equipment we have given them will either fall into a state of disrepair because they don't know how/can't afford to fix it or will be handed over to the Taliban.

The way I see it, we Americans make major mistakes going into countries that for hundreds and thousands of years have had a way of life that works for them. I will not start, it belongs in a different forum.
