    Normally, I have only good things to say about local Sorry Sorry Stores but the squeeze seems to be on. Now Mobile Phones are a target, for Greed.
    A few weeks ago, Our local Store started to charge 1 peso per Load until 30 peso loaded then it went to 2 peso.
    After 30 peso load, no more surcharge, Hmmmmmmmm OK I guess, Then Yesterday My daughter told me it had gone up to 2 peso surcharge until 30 peso, then it was 5 peso per load. to 40 and after that no surcharge. Now this is not a Globe or Smart Move at all ( My Sister in law has a Sorry Sorry at the other end of the Barangay and she makes No Surcharge and is given a discount on both Globe and Smart Loads. This is the Shop owner doing this. I am not sure, if I am annoyed :mad: or upset O-| at this. So mama or Papa give kiddywink 5 peso to load and all they get is 3 peso load. pay 10 peso and they only get 8 load.
    For the likes of us I guess it doesn't matter, saves us going to town for a load which would cost more, then Of course we would load on 40+ peso and not have the surcharge anyway. For me I usually have 200 at a time but I am talking here of the usually hard Pushed people who are Local, to these Shops (I have heard that a few are now Following Suit)

    Has anyone else come across this or any other money making Gimmicks, to raise profits at the Expense of those that really do keep the Sorry Sorry alive?

    My ex gf used to sell load. She actually lost money on loads she sold for less than 30 pesos. Globe and Smart do not want to be bothered with those small loads and they make it hard on the resellers to make any money selling the small loads. I think that anger at the sari sari vendor is misdirected, however, if one was to make a federal case out of it then Globe and Smart might just decide that the minimum load available for sale is a 30 peso load.

    Nobody is getting rich off selling load, even if they add a peso or two. They are just trying to cover their costs. These prices are not what they were a year ago. They are sharing less profit with the sellers from when I used to sell it online. I wouldn't even waste my time selling the crap online anymore.

    The sari-sari store IS the little man. They don't even make ONE peso on the sale of 15 pesos. They make 20 centavos. Their time has to be worth something or the "little man" you are talking about won't be getting any load from the sari-sari store. Businesses don't operate for free. The big man is Smart and Globe. The middle man is the businesses who buy load from them, the little man is the sari-sari store at the bottom of the food chain. Are you asking that sariX2 stores should load phones for free?

    Just FYI. When I had my website I had to charge extra for small loads, I lost money on them. If a person bought 500 or more I gave a discount. If I remember correctly I sold 500 for around 450 and 1000 for 925 (or something close to that). The prices varied because different supplies offered different profit margins on their load, as shown in my screenshots above (and those are the prices today). Sun offered the most profit so I passed that on to customers. I could do incremental loads (2 pesos load) but I never bothered with it because there was absolutely zero profit on it. Back then (4 years ago) 1000 pesos of smart OTA load cost me 850 pesos. Now it's 970. The profit margin is shrinking, maybe this is the big companies trying to push out the middleman, or maybe it's the middleman wanting more profit, it's impossible to know right now. The only thing we know is that the costs WILL get pushed on to the customers. Business owners have a family to feed.

    WHY Now?

    In 15 years here, this was always the case, this is Exactly Why I started the Thread Go back to the beginning, You will see I said the " Sqeeze" is on, This was my concept of the Situation, Why Now? not planted for a business Argument at all. just WHY? Now. it only Hurts the Little man, the End user, You didn't like something you stopped Doing it, the Kids in the Street have no Choice. Do They ?

    We moan, about the Long nose tax but when the boot is on the other Foot, the short nose tax, OH! That"s OK.

    No, I stopped selling because of massive amounts of fraudulent purchase attempts from the "little guy, the end user". The only payment server that would even consider doing business with me was off shore companies that catered mainly to porn and god knows what other "activities". And let me tell ya, their cut is a massive one.

    As for "Why"? There are likely a lot of reasons. Data costs fluctuate, inflation, greed, user abuse, incompetence in the field, etc etc. I doubt it can be pinned down to one thing in particular.

    When I say "user abuse" I am referring to the tendency of the Filipino to buy these "Unlimited text" packages and then proceed to send out hundreds of worthless text messages to everyone in their contact list. These unlimited daily call/text/data packages are unsustainable for Smart/Globe/Sun. The "little guy" is just as much to blame for the price hike as anyone else. They abuse the system and they WILL pay a price for it. Text messages use data, data uses bandwidth and bandwidth is not free.

    If users wish to continue their abusive text message practices they are going to end up paying more for it. Simple as that.

    I will leave it there then with this one Thought, I just Hope, those people who can't recognize it for what it is, one day can Understand, Poverty is not a nice thing, I trust and Hope that those who have or try and take others for greed, never experience Poverty, they will surely not Survive, like these little people here are trying to do. :rolleyes:
