Hello Names db so I guess you can call me that. I'm a Yankee originally from Connecticut and retired out of California. Yep, retired from the military in 2000 and from civil service in March of this year. Been here in the Philippines for the past 7 months looking around for a place to live for longer than a week or two. Visited many places with a few exceptions and landed twice in Dumaguete. Most recent visit was just last week, had a chance to see the festival and visit Valencia for some outdoor activities. After my first visit I was really liking the place and decided then to place a gold star next to Dumaguete on my list of possible places to hang out for a while. After the second visit I've decided to look around for a place to live for 6 months to really get a feel for the island. I currently leave my stuff in Bacoor, Cavite while I travel, only returning to rest, do laundry and find another place to visit. I like long walks on the beach, wine tasting and puppies. Nah, give me a red horse on the beach and a dog the size of a small horse so I can ride it around town. Without a helmet of course. Look forward to reading the posts and perhaps running into some of you within the next month or so when I make the move to where the 'Gentile' people live. In the famous words of Tom Cruz "sometimes you just gotta say let it be"...oh no, that was Sir Paul.
