Good link Firefly but as always, a drop in Oil prices never seems to get to to the man in the Street in any meaningful reduction in gas/petrol prices at the pumps. Although when they write these Articles it always looks good and can give us a feeling of some hope, Administrations always think up a way of saying AH! but hold on we have a shortfall in revenue elsewhere and so we never see a drop in the Commodity or in the tax applied. Wouldn't it be nice to see the % drop in the barrel price applied to the end product JMHO but to me it is Always the man in the Street that never gets his just rewards. The decrease will as usual go to manufacturers and yet they will still hike the price, They say "what goes round comes round" but i am not so sure any more. JP
Not long ago the gas was over 60p per liter. Today it's 42.00 for premium at the cheapest place I've seen in Dumaguete (the no-name gas station on Valencia road, first after you cross Valencia city boarder)
Never seen it so cheap here or anywhere for that matter. Desiel usually runs around p47 but saw it today at p34.15 just great and makes a big difference. Atleast here when the barrel price goes down the man on the street gets the benifits. Back home it never goes down whatever the barrel price is. Still think it's around £1.40 ish back in the uk per ltr. Bloody bargain here
In the Uk 60% of price paid is Tax. http://goo.gl/9Oc3kt UK Petrol Prices for Tuesday 9th December 2014 Avg Unleaded £1.20/L Diesel £1.25/L
Yeah, governments seem to be pretty big dicks about taxing gas.......and for getting a plane ticket. (Seems that taxes are usually right around 50% of the costs of flying) What really pisses me off about the fuel prices is that they charge you the sales tax for the total amount (including the fuel and fuel tax they have added). So you are paying a tax on a tax. Ridiculous. If a private individual had done business like the government has they would be in jail for a very very long time.
