Is stupid contagious? Someone better call the CDC and have this guy quarantined just to be sure. First: this lines right up there on the intelligence scale with bird watching in terrorist infested jungles. Second: police actually investigate this stuff? Now we know why the police don't have time to enforce traffic laws. A fool and his money.......
ha ha ha ha, silly bugger, it is one thing, and bad enough, to lose it to a female chatting online, BUT, to lose it to a male...........?......hmmmmmm............oh well, whatever floats your boat.... and, I am very jealous of the USD to Peso exchange rate....
"American loses P.5M to chatmate" BY SHIELA GELERA "The suspect transacted the victim over the internet to put up a business, . . . " So this case is about a fraudulent business soliciting money over the internet, and not-so-much about a foreigner sending money to his amorous "chatmate" as the headline implies. More foreigner bashing. The headline really communicates, "look at the dumb American". Cheers.
Well, I don't see it as foreigner bashing. Just idiot bashing. Sending 10k for a "business" to someone you met on a chat room 6 months prior is pretty dang stupid. I think sending the money to the online female predators is more understandable. At least with that you are thinking with your mini-me. If you are doing business you should be thinking with the head that was designed for thinking, which he apparently didn't do. Has nothing to do with him being American or me bashing them (I am American myself and I really don't care for that stuff). I make reference here to another thread where some dumb Swiss guys went bird watching in the southern islands of Mindanao and got taken hostage. That wasn't me bashing the Swiss, I was bashing ignorance. Hopefully in the future some idiot that is doing research on starting a business or going bird watching runs into these threads and learns that bad things do happen to people who don't use a bit of common sense.
My former "fraudulent" gf in Makati cost me that much for 10 months of misery. Lessons learned paid off in the long run...
