The Filipino mechanic here (former Ceres Bus mechanic from Bacolod) decided to make an electric motorcycle from all the crap parts that was being thrown away/battle damaged. Pretty cool stuff. He says it will go about 50km on a charge. I don't know how long it takes to charge it though. The headlight made me laugh (those crappy flashlights you get in basic training).
I wonder where They are getting the Us Military Surplus stuff from, for him to utilize? the charger looks a mean machine.
We are on a military base and they have a contract to maintain the vehicles. Everything on the bike was going to be destroyed if it was not used. (We do not allow any electrical or metal stuff to be thrown in the trash that is taken off base as it can be used to make bombs. All of that would be thrown in the incinerators or shipped overseas for disposal.)
I agree that the flashlights are crappy but not a bad early effort at hands free lighting, just clip it on webgear. They were fair for signalling in their day too. Today's xenon or other varieties of lights are amazing.
