Not everyone shares my following view, and I don't expect them to, but having a child when you are 60+ is a blessing. For those that don't like the late parenting and look down on it or criticize me for it, I really don't care - your loss, I have this to say.
Biologically, my particular boy would not have been born into this world, as is. Importantly, when I pass my wife will have a son to look after and eventually take care of her. Moreover, my young wife's life would be incomplete without a child. Factual to many filipinas.
The joy is being able to spend the majority of 24/7 watching him grow. While I had two children in my first marriage, I was working and going to school and often moonlighting as a programmer and, unfortunately, missed seeing the growth and learning curve and feeling the closeness that I am experiencing today.
Most filipinas want a child, married or not. Coming into a relationship, one should be aware of this, which is one of the reasons I am posting this.
Look, being a born again dad is not for everyone. Lots of patience, sacrifices, and you must be unselfish, but if that is you press forward for a life-changing experience.
Just please don't knock her up and walk away.

Which is why I could never have kids. I can only tolerate the dirty little sh*t machines for about an hour.....or until they break something expensive.

OZ-Roger, if you have the same gf or wife for a few years, you know what patience vis all about. So by the time a child comes around one is acclimated to patience. But I agree, it is not for everyone. Thanks for your kind comments.
