I voted your comment as funny Dustin because it's good for a chuckle. Having said that if I may add that Filipinos are among some of the best Flyers in the world today and are in very high demand in North America and other Countries as well. Cheers!

Pilots ..Just got to put it out there friend. When I was in the Military, our best engineers were Filipino. When they make the cut...well they have made the cut and google search will confirm that many a superb minded engineer comes out of the Philippines nowadays! Congrats to their level of achievement within Global communities. Just gotta give credit where credit is due!

That generation has came and retired already. You simply have to look at the infrastructure (specifically the newer stuff) in country to know that the vast majority are sub-par engineers. The few that are lucky enough to escape the Philippines and get proper training can be successful engineers though.

Here are some of the most influential engineers to ever walk the earth.
List of Famous Engineers - Biographies, Timelines, Trivia & Life History
I don't see any Filipinos on that list.

The Philippines doesn't produce too many "great thinkers". Rizal being one of the few I can think of.

I wouldn't consider them the best flyers in terms of pilots or passengers. Download the phone app that lets you track the planes flying around the world and watch the jokers try to land in Dumaguete. The ones they let fly internationally are decent pilots. This is a small fraction of the pilots behind the controls from the Philippines.
