I believe the Figure mentioned was in Excess of 30 Million! Now This. Can the Mayor ever be believed?

As a Side , I see that his Confectionery Factory in Bagacay has a nice new Drainage System Installed Outside the Perimeter Wall. Extended without a visible ( On Show) fencing Permit ( as per City Regulations)

I thought I would never do this but i will post some thoughts in defense of the Mayor. It seems to me that there were going to stop the burial assistance program in lieu of providing funds at the end of each year so the Seniors could use the funds during their lifetime. So my question is if they use all the burial fund during their lifetime, how will the family come up with funds for burial?

In the US if the burial funds would be used during the lifetime, then they families would just request burial funds again upon death from the welfare agency. That is the way the families would do it in the US, because it is illegal to buy votes but you can stuff their pockets with benefit until they vote for you. Hmmm... not much difference.

It could just be that the Mayor is looking ahead, and is well aware that few families are going to save any money for burial costs, or any other thing in their lives. How many times have you been asked to help with the burial of someone here on behalf of a relative? I average about 1.4 times a year.

 

Double talking from the Mayor was my point. Dave I do take your Point but The City Council Does have a Burial Fund, so to me it is a 50/50 Situation.
The nationals are very Proud about the way they take care of the Olds, so to me it has to Start Somewhere. Why not give them that little bit extra in Life.

They are a Loooong time buried.

Jack, I do not follow the mayor close enough to understand his double talk issues. My comment was focused more on the fact that he was not giving away the city's purse to buy votes of a segment of voting citizens. I am just saying Obama, has given anyone that can vote anything he can, but of coarse the US does not allow vote buying."Give a man a fish and he eats for a day, but teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. Promise a man someone elses' fish each day, and you create a lifelong voter for your political party."
I was just trying to compare the methods of buying votes by either directly putting money in someone's hand (the Ph way) , or indirectly by stuffing benefits in their pockets (the US way).
I really do not follow Local politics close enough to comment with much depth, but I do know the in the hand direct buying votes is practiced here. A couple of us took a poll of the Bambulo Resort employees while we were at the bar. Not very scientific, but we could not find an employee who had not been offer money for their votes.

 

Dave, I take on Board and agree with your Thoughts but it is not the Political stance that was my intent. We have all been here long enough to know that Underhanded things go on and that I certainly can't see changing in our lifetime. This Particular Mayor (and I know him fairly Personally) is one of the Best for many years, in many things a lot better than the beloved Pedices He has done many things that took some balls but My point in all this is that on one hand he is like the Special Forces Brigade at McDo's, got this, got that, done this and done that, yet when it is time to put up.They Shut up, Yet they don't do they, They just go on with the Crap, Just like this Guy is Staring to do. On the Other hand it makes it sound like the City never really had that excess, and that, is what I meant as double talking.

What's 13 Million as he Quoted out of the 30+ million he reported as an excess, there will be more excess this year if the Administration is as good as he is telling everyone.
