has anyone bent the blue poly water pipe used here without using heat? i'd like to make a hoop house/poly tunnel with 1'' or larger dia. but this stuff doesn't feel like it'd take a bend without breaking.

    gracias anticipadas...

In a Word Nope! my Guys have always used Heat to bend.
Norm, I would add here that the Older it is I think you will find the More Brittle it will be. So if Buying I would keep your eye on the darker blue as New, it fades with age.

You could use hot water (I know that is heat but it a little more controlled than flame) to give it a little flexibility

I have bent the blue 3/4 " pvc pipe into something like what you are talking about.... bent it cold ...it has been in the sun for a month or so now, and seems to retain the shape even when i take it out of the stoppers....i bent 5 foot lengths in to a hoop with about 18" high centre...
