A self driving car would get nowhere in the Philippines. It would follow all the road rules and then be constantly cut off, then stopping for the person who cut it off....and then being cut off again for stopping for the person who just cut it off. You would have to program it to not give a sh*t.

Yeah, "normal" drivers would have just as many problems driving in the Philippines. A self driving car could be programmed to handle the organized driving in a western country. "Do this if this happens, else if this happens do this, else if this happens do this, else if this object is detected within this many meters do this, else if none of that is detected then drive straight." Kinda how programming works. There would be way to many "else if"'s in the Philippines. You would need a computer with 1000 times the processing power to do the same job in the Philippines that you would in the West.

I think the gay traffic enforcer would just see it as an opportunity to be "Fabulous" for an extended period of time and put on a "who can be more gay" competition. :cautious:

Here is video of the "gay traffic enforcers" in Cavite.

I think they are more concerned with putting on their own little Broadway show than actually directing any traffic or taking it as a serious job. They are actually working against their own cause, it takes 5 or more of them to enforce traffic in small area where normally it would only take 1 or 2. This will just be a short lived political statement from the local mafia....errr, I mean government.

I think an important element in the programming would require profuse application of "Random Number Generators" to keep functions within local driving customs.
FUZZY LOGIC could be helpful to get full functionality. My personal view on fuzzy logic is that it results of FUZZY UNDERSTANDING.
That again would be compatible with the local knowledge of the rules of the road.
