I just want to try this, i have a brother his studying in bais city, as an agriculture but unfortunately due to financial matters he stop his studies and he came here in manila to work, and now he is finnish his contract already, i decided to post here that u guys can help him since his corse is agriculture, just if u know where he can aply a job that fit in his corse, im looking forward to hear from you guys, thank you and god bless us all
Vea, as much as any of us may want to help you & your Brother, we are remember, Foreigners in the main and most of us are Retired, or not in the day to day work type ethic in Farming. I can't think of anything I know that would fall remotely in the quest of a job in Agriculture, The Area in General is farmed by families and to be Honest, I have never heard of any Conglomerate Farming Concern in this Part of Negros Oriental that would be looking for a graduate in Agriculture CEBU to me would be a better place to hunt that type of Work, again I know of No one that has this sort of contact. Probably not the sort of answer you or your brother want to hear but what can I say but sorry. JP
Thank you verry much sir for ur time to rply my post, i am gratefull for ur sincerly answer, anyway sir he can do a lot of things too, not just only about the farming, his a verry hard working since we grow up in a small barrio of tanjay,, as i said sir i just try to post here, and im glad u gave ur time to answer it, thank u!!!
Well it was just that you started with the Agriculture issue so that's what I answered on, but on reflection, Those family farmers I mentioned have 2 quite useful farmers Markets, 1 in Daro and another in Bagacay Baringays, maybe a Visit to both and do some asking around will be worth it. Dumaguete is not a Super Rich City although our mayor may tell you Different, Unemployment is quite high and local jobs may well be fiercely fought over (well not physically I hope) As we say to ourselves, this situation is a "Feet on the Ground" thing for your brother, walking around and asking. Maybe our members from Tanjay can give a little more insight as it is quite away from Dumaguete and Travel can be costly and Time consuming to say the least. Best of Luck, I feel you may have given yourself quite a task here. JP
You can find jobs online through "head hunter" websites (don't let the name scare you It's just what we call recruiters). I did a Google search and came up with several results for agricultural positions. I didn't go through what qualifications they are looking for with each job but you can have a look for yourself. Agriculture employment and recruitment :: Best Jobs Philippines Sciences Jobs - Agriculture Jobs in Philippines - Job Vacancy @ Job Search JobStreet.com Philippines Others / Agriculture / Forestry / Fishing Jobs in Philippines - jobsDB Philippines (Page 1) These are just a few examples of jobs you can find online. Don't be put off by jobs that say they require a certain amount of education/experience. Key to finding an job online is to send your resume to as many employers as possible. You need to flood the job market with your resume/CV. Many times employers do not put all their jobs online (they get charged per position they post online), they might see your resume and see that you would do well in one of those jobs not posted and contact you about it. It would also be wise for you (or your brother) to create an account on job searching websites and fill out a complete profile and upload your CV to them. (Most of the reputable job-searching websites it is completely free to join and upload a CV.) I am one who got a job just by uploading my resume/CV to a website, the employer found me. Searching for jobs is very different than it was just 10 years ago. You will be turned down for jobs, don't let it get you down. Hope this helped out a bit. Note: I will say that it is your brother that should be looking for the job himself. Most employers will not be impressed that he is not motivated enough to go out searching for jobs on his own (I do understand you wanting to help your brother though). I have made the mistake of trying to find friends jobs, only to have my name dragged through the mud when they did not follow through with the interview I had set up for them.
Vea, this is an agricultural area so there should be job opportunities in the area. Like JP said they are not many farmers/agricultural people on the site , but we do know people that do farming here. I know a fellow into growing lettuce commercially using hydroponic, and other know other farmers. I would suggest you give us a little more information on your brothers training, so that if we talk with someone here, we have more resource information. on the site. Networking, as you are doing is a very good way to find a job. "It is not what you know as much as who you know" is a lesson I learned a early in life. That is why I do not know much anymore.
