Looks like they didn't waste much time replacing Windows 8. I might try to go for the "free" upgrade (MS...free...lol I'll believe that when I see it). I got this email from them last night. How much worse could it be than 8? I guess it's worth a try.....right?
I consider 'downgrading a particular version of Windows' as an actual 'upgrade' until the 'new version' is at least a year or two old & has had most of the bugd ironed out of it...
Windows 8 has most of the bugs gone. The problem I see with it is people don't like the start menu (or lack of a pop-up start menu like Win7) and the windows app store sucks. They have very few apps in there and I have yet to see one rated 5 stars (most are well below 3 stars). Most apps there include adware and spyware as well. Dumping Windows 8 will not do anything to resolve this....might actually make the problem worse. They really need to improve their app store and have some sort of review system to keep the viruses out of programs that most would consider "Microsoft Approved" if they want people to embrace it.
