On the Honda webpage i found the Honda 125 Wave Alpha scooter: Honda Philippines, Inc. the price on the homepage is 55K Is there a dealer here in dumaguete or maybe in Bayawan where i can get this bike for that price (55K or less) Thanks for any infos
The main Honda dealer in Dumaguete is Du Ek Sam for new bikes. They also sell repos. New bikes here are more expensive than you would expect them to be.
When I was looking for M/C a few years ago I thought the used bikes were proportionally more expense than new bikes when you consider you have not idea what the level of maintenance and care was extended to them. The price differences did not seem to be discounted much at the new bike dealers, but on the private market they were probably cheaper. Some of the dealers seemed like they did not even wash them before putting them up on the sales floor. As for the Repo's I figured if you could not afford to make the payments you probably did not have the money to properly maintain the bike also. The Repos generally looked in very poor condition that I saw at the dealers. One of the biggest advantage in buying in a bike from the dealers is the financing package which goes on sometimes beyond the life of the bike. I am sure some bikes are just considered to be short time sales when the finance company gets them back for another sale. . There just keep selling the same bike over and over again, keeping the down payment and in reality always keeping it, never completely losing control over the bike . Sort of like some of the ladies on the boulevard who sell it but walk away with it tucked between their legs in the end. If you can not find the level of financing when you are selling your bike it could be hard to sell on the open market, as I doubt a lot of local buyers have full price cash offers. My experience with Du Ek Sam was not encouraging as I could hardly get them to talk to me. The funniest thing is that when I finally got them to engage in a sales conversation with a group of about 5 people on the floor, the lights started going out, the people walked away, the clerks left their desk.... IT WAS LUNCH TIME and the suction of so many people leaving the room at the same time almost sucked the air out of my lungs... That was my introduction to the noon time closing. By the way no one said a thing to me about closing, they just all walked away leaving me there standing next to a display motorcycle. They have been nice to me at the mall when they have their exhibits, and I got good service at the Du Ek Sam in Sipilay on my Yamaha. There was no waiting there for a simple oil change and tune up.
