    Hi everyone!

Hope you are all doing well. My family just moved here in Dumaguete (about 2 days ago!), and yes, we are very new to the place, community and have no neighbor friends yet =(

I really need your help! And on top of my list is looking for the best preschool for my daughter. She's 3 yrs old and turning 4 this year. I have heard of Silliman, Little Village and Montessori (SIMON) - yet I would like to seek for your advise on any experience you have with these schools specifically for preschool.

Here are the criteria that I would want my daughter to have her first school experience:
1 - that would challenge my daughter's abilities and intelligence, mold and develop her skills (at the age of 3, she already knows the ABC, count to 20, she knows shapes and can identify colors well, identify animals and sounds, etc, so I am hoping that the school will be able to challenge her more and help her to bring out the best of her)
2 - can train my daughter to be independent and interact with others (I work homebased since she's in my tummy, so she's really used to having me around, I don't have a yaya (nanny), so I am really hands on to her ever since, whenever she pees, poops, eats or anything, she calls me and always always always wants me to be with her. I would like her to be independent, though she can interact with others but not fully and as long as I am with her then she's ok with talking to anyone)
3 - teaches good values, discipline (following rules)
4 - fun learning environment with superb teachers, staff and facilities
5 - safe place, good environment

I prefer a school that uses English as a medium for speaking or language, of high quality and not so pricey! (Perhaps 25k to 30k budget will be ok) and that is accessible as well.

Thank you very much and I will greatly appreciate your help!

We send our 3 yr old boy to One International School in Dauin, for many of the same reasons you mentioned. They use the England school system and have English teachers with Filipina assistants. Small class sizes. The 3rd trimester starts April 20th, after Spring break April 2. The kids have both Filipino and foreigner parents.

Their website is: oneinternationalschool.com - Welcome
Their Facebook is: ONE International School - 6217 Dauin, Negros Oriental - Local Education, Elementary School | Facebook

Is will also say that this is probably one of the best schools here but, at around p60,000 a term was a bit out of our budget.

Our son went to DACCA. Dumaguete ? Chinese Christian Academy. On street behind HoneComb club on Boulevard.
Excellent school, they also teach mandarin. Really nice teachers and staff. Don't recall pricing. We have moved from Dumaguete is the only reason he is not in school there now.

The x-wife's kid went there. Only thing I didn't like was the required Catholic classes (and nuns teaching) and the constant need to pay extra money for class "projects" and exams (this was for a 5 year old child).

There may be a misunderstanding here. DACCA is not catholic nor has nuns teaching there.

You are looking for an awful lot for your budget the best schools here will run nearly double, you need to look at the schools close to where you live as travelling a distance will get frustrating when the traffic is heavy.
