Some time a Go, we had a Tutorial from Dustin about using ulr's for producing images from the net. Now I guess we have all got the hang of that but and we can all save Disk space by not download things from the net. So here I am thinking OH! I could do with getting some Disk Space back. My Daughter now has here own Laptop and does her own thing on that for school and things, obviously putting her own Programmes on that she needs, So my Thinking is, if I get rid of all the unused programmes from her Elementary years on my Desk Top can I regain the disk Space? JP
I could only image how much space images take up on your computer. If you don't use them why not get rid of them? It should be a pretty straight forward process from the Control Panel in Windows.
I have made a start. Have to have her here to double check non usage so could take some time. Like all teenagers, she is in and out and been Nowhere. My Images are on a data "D" disk so I have no worries there, hers were on "C" drive While we are here on this thing of Images, I am having no end of problems getting Images through the image url way on to posts, it keeps telling me to enter a message of no more than 20000 words. ? problems? it has been happening 2 or 3 days now. I'm not sure, but I thought in Windows it gives you the "last used" date for every program. Are you saying you can't upload a picture with a link like this? [DOUBLEPOST=1427817411,1427817347][/DOUBLEPOST]BTW JP that was a completely random picture I linked.....i'm not trying to hint around at anything there. lol
It is only on certain Threads and Topics For instance it did not work on Pmans welcome post so I did as thread on his birthday greeting Another was the NORSU Thread. i will maybe let you know which Posts I can't get an image to attach if that's OK? BTW Where did you get my Dad's photo from ? JP
Were you trying to quote someone when you were posting the image. The 20k number it gave you as an error message is the set character limit on posts. Sometimes images found online have really bad links that are insanely long (it happens sometimes when you are linking it from Google Images) then that might have put you over the 20k character limit. If it happens again open notepad and paste your image link in there and see if it is crazy long. [DOUBLEPOST=1427901047,1427900937][/DOUBLEPOST] I wasn't aware he ever had a "special needs" child.
