The Dumaguete City Police has uncovered attempts to cover up a crime through the staged robbery of a rural bank in the city. Supt James Goforth, Dumaguete police chief, said a phone call early yesterday morning informed them that the Rural Bank of Basay (NegOr) Inc. at Perdices Street in the city, was robbed, and he sent investigators to check the report. A certain Manuel Docor y Banez, 57, married, of Ibo, Toledo City, Cebu province, who claimed to be the officer-in-charge and security supervisor of the bank, told the assigned investigator, Senior Police Officer 2 Julito Deloria, that about 4 or 5 a.m. yesterday, while he was opening the accordion door of the bank, three unidentified men armed with hand guns barged inside and ordered him to open the safety vault.
