The chief of Coast Guard Station in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, Ensign Cecille Jimenez, will be transferred to the Coast Guard headquarters at the National Capital Region and will be replaced by Coast Guard officer, Lt. Junior Grade Greanata Jude from Palawan, also a woman. The turnover of command, at the regional office of the Coast Guard in Dumaguete City, was scheduled Wednesday, Jimenez said. Jimenez, who has been assigned in Dumaguete for about one year and eight months, said her relief order was dated March 20, 2015 but the regional head of the Coast Guard was on schooling and with such concerns as the interception of millions of pesos of “smuggled” rice from Malaysia, her stay in Dumaguete was extended. She said her transfer is routine and part of the simultaneous reshuffling of Coast Guard station commanders in the Central Visayas region. She said her assignment in Dumaguete was more challenging, and she experienced a variety of maritime incidents, such as missing fisherman, human trafficking, a sunken ship, and the latest “rice smuggling” activity. Continue reading... A busy assignment for her. Seems to me that she has handled most of the problems professionally and to the best of her abilities.
Does handling problems professionally include getting her fair share of smuggled rice now stored here in Dumaguete before leaving?... just asking, not implying... It is really sad that such a thought would enter my mind, but after being here almost 4 years, and an avid reader of the news, the question just comes up automatically.
I think the fact that she found it and didn't take a bribe to let it go through speaks pretty loudly. That was a lot of money to snatch out of someone's hands. Dangerous stuff in the Philippines.
That speaks very highly of her for the good people of Dumaguete but Awwwww... so is that why she got promoted out of Dumaguete because she interfered with someone else's cash flow? Just wondering again... demotion is not the only way to get someone out of your way.
Wow, these are very junior officers; coming in and going out. I did not read anything from the article that stated wrongdoing on her part...integrity is not dead, just hard to find sometimes. Shawn
The article said that her time on station was already over, it had been extended so that she could handle the smuggled rice that was found.
Hummm sorry I have just read so many articles about entrepreneur government workers (employee is a title term) that get paid for working full time for the government but make their living by their connections. What does "handle the smuggled rice" in non-governmental employee terms mean? . In governmental employee terms I would think it means "bonus time." Sorry I am so negative on this subject, but it is negativity based on the typical government employee and the system that is cultivated in the government employee culture, not particularly this lady who may be one of the best governmental employees.
