They say the one liner is the best But HEY! the one Worder has me creased up here. Sorry Hawk I could not resist JP
How do you know it was in fact your pet that knocked it in the pool? Were there witnesses, other than his friends? CCTV footage? For all that you know it could just be a way to blame his carelessness and dropping the phone himself on someone else that can pay. Nevertheless, tell the punk to take it with you and stop harassing your GF as she has nothing to do with it. And, if he is an *sshole about it, tell him to take it to court as you don't deal with people with bad attitude out of a courtroom.
This is the short (and polite) version of how it went down in the private messages between him and myself.
It's easy for a 4ner to try and intimidate a scared your gf... If he was a guest there and did not have the owner's permission to use the pool then this is a no brainer. If he was stupid enough to leave his property where it (and he) should not have been it's on his dime. Tell J to txt me (you have my number) and if he knocks on the door again I will come chat with him...Moron!!!!! End of story!!!!!
p*ss-off would be my first and final reply---especially if he is being rude. We used to call the response a "Chinese telegram" F---you, sue me!
Who is this guy? I heard someone talking about the monkey going crazy, taking his phone and chewing on it. I don't remember who it was though. I was a bit thirsty that night. You would have to be crazy to leave anything out with a monkey on the loose. Seems simple though. If the guy is being nice, then maybe you replace it. Otherwise, have the guy get this started in the courts. If he harasses your GF, then that's another issue that you deal with accordingly. PM me the name.
I would approach the owner of the property, explain the situation and ask him what the rules are when guest enter the property and their responsibility for safeguarding their personal property. I am sure that he will tell you that it is the guests responsibility and that they use the facilities at their own risk. I'm sure that their will be notices on the property explaining that to guests and residents. Perhaps you could ask him to have a quiet word with the resident whom invited the guest, and say that he will not tolerate this kind of behaviour.
NO....IT IS NOT YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.... regardless of how the phone ended up in the pool.... He is responsible for putting his phone at risk.....if you sleep in the middle of the highway....is it the drivers fault you got run over or the person who made a bad decision
