This is an interesting but confusing article. One of the negative score areas is tolerance for immigrants and discrimination and violence against minorities. Some of the issues that get positive scores is "early marriage" and I am not sure what that is or why it positive, unless it could the fact that most young couples just skip the church wedding (so the statistics say the population does not marry young) and move right on to the maternity ward. "The Philippines dropped in the worldwide ranking in terms of social progress, according to a global survey conducted by a Washington-based think tank........ The top three countries in the Social Progress Index 2015 are Norway, Sweden and Switzerland with closely grouped scores between 88.36 and 87.97, the report said." Article: Huh? Compared to what? Somalia? I'm curious how they come up with these numbers. I didn't see a link to the "study" in the article.
Forget any stats that are supplied by the Philippine authorities, the information would be much more flawed than any Western publication, which are not accurate anyway. A person only has to live in Phil for a year or two at the most to get the drift.............lol............................now, who can say that was a negative review of the situation...........lol.............besides, if the Country improved out of sight, we would all leave because it would be much too expensive anyway, and move to Mexico...........ha ha ha ha ha ha ha...................or the Ghana..............or Columbia.......or?????????? Therefore, let's hope Phil does not improve. ?
Good on ya mate, keep up the missionary work.........................but do it slowly please............we all like the low cost of living here.
