We finally arrived in Dumaguete from San Antonio, TX with our 3 dachshunds! Currently renting a house in Candau-ay short term only. We started looking for a rental property with a pool or near the beach but disappointed with what has become of the beaches here in Dumaguete. The beaches are sealed off leaving almost no access to the public or to the fishermen! While Dauin has much nicer beach and access, however, the properties are Western in prices! No bueno! We'll keep looking maybe much farther away from Dumaguete!!

Try the Bacong area, the prices are right, it is on the beach or inland locations too. I live near Bambulo Resort and consider it my private resort because many times I am there almost by myself with my guests. I have the benefit of the pool and miniature golf at 80 P per visit without the maintenance and utility cost of a pool at home. A Good place maintained in a western tradition. I eat a home because the food is on the high side but good at times, depending on what you eat. The homes in the area go from 10,000 P to 20,000 P for a three bedroom house with a yard for the dogs. The people are friendly and honest. Imp loves dogs, caught him playing with and intimidating' the neighbors guard dog yesterday under the gate fence.. The guard dog barked at him as Imp slapped his paws as he extended them under the fence but Imp could not give a . It is fun for him to be the Alpha animal in the neighborhood and all the neighbors know him because he does walk about daily, against my permission... but when you are an alpha creature you do not care if you have permission or not.
