This came up last year also, let's just see if it will be enforced as the last time it was brought up on the news enforcement lasted around a week!

    Here's hoping!

Sports bikes are completely different and should be left alone, it's the dickheads on silly scooters who seem to think the louder the faster they will go! I'm sure most of them must be nearly deaf.

I have an aftermarket exhaust on my sports bike. It isn't obnoxiously loud unless I'm hauling @ss on a highway. Either way, I doubt any of the local police would question it if I told them it was factory though.

It's no different in the US. Kids throw the fart cans on a cheap civic and think they are ready for the drag strip.

The trouble with noise is that it is subjective, each of us hears noise at different levels. The only objective way is to frame an ordnance, is with noise levels in decibels. No matter what the vehicle is it should not exceed a level which is injurous to ones health, distracting or annoying. For city traffic this should be no more than 85dB for 8 hours.

As a pedestrian you would be on the pavement, the distance is not precise, but in the city most roads are roughly the same width. The point being that the vehicle must not exceed the mandate dB level. the proposed level is 50dB.
