Could somebody help out The Freak with the following please? What is the longest time that I can stay in this wonderful country ( tongue in cheek haha ) by extending my tourist visa? I have always left the Philippines every year, for a holiday but was told that I can stay for three years now ( still have to extend my visa every two months of course ) before I have to leave. And is it possible for a single person who has lived here for a number of years to get a dual citizenship? For those who are wondering, the coin came down Heads. ( but who cares anyway? lol )
You may extend up to 3 years You may only get a Duel Nationality if you are married and a 13 a Holder Permanent. (This is something that does not come up often as it is normally the Filipino that applies for D/N) You can obtain Philippine Citizenship after 10 Years continual Residence but there is a rule of 5 for SSRV Holders. Hope this helps you my Friend JP
Thanks Jack good to know the three year thing, but as far as my wife knows it is one year, so I wont tell her any different, unless one of the "outlaws" happen to find out and spill the beans. If that happens there goes my yearly blissful holiday in the land of Milk, and Honey with my mates. My God how will I survive being with my one and only for three year stretches? Maybe if I bribe the outlaws not to have loose lips, and not tell her of the three years should they find out, I will still be able to get through my pain and suffering, year by year, as I have been doing........ but three years without a break..hate the thought of that. PS. Now I am freaking out again.
I found the ultimate solution to the Wifey woes! I work nights and she works days.... never had an argument for over 2 decades.
