    You're not a kidding!

If the PNP has been that busy, and these figures hold up as true, it makes me wonder what's going on in the Islands where there can be so many of these bad guys....

    Holy crap is right.

Yeah but look who is doing the reporting.
I can guarantee none of these are those responsible for the deaths of Mr Average Foreigner in the last year or so!

    Mmm, that's 17000(minus 66 killed) devided by 150 day's (5 months) makes 110 persons arrested per day!
    17000 devided by (4473 + 173 firearms makes 1 firearm pro 3,8 person.
I'm wondering where they jail this people with all jailes overcrowded and how are they procecuted with all courts overloaded?
And most of all, where do this firearms come from and where do they go now?

Mokum did that math, it's really not that much of a stretch when you consider the population is likely over 100 million now. I think what is surprising is that these are the "most-wanted" criminals.....but I would argue that the PNP has a pretty broad definition of most-wanted. I am going to say that many of these people on the most wanted crimes also include non-violent drug crimes (possessing a matchbox of weed is probably enough to get you on the most wanted list....which they put you on after you were arrested). The Philippines has learned nothing from the US' war on drugs.

It's funny you mention weed. In my State of Oregon, the new law went into effect 01 JUL, making the purchase of weed a recreational thing. Passed by a weed store on 01 JUL in Ashland, Oregon, and the line of customers went out the weed store front door and was two blocks long!

I don't smoke the stuff, but HOLY COW! Oregon is gonna make a killing off the taxes that the weed stores will generate. Probably make a few millionaires overnight, too.

Well, at least the PNP guys are out in the streets/jungles and not in the donut shops like my guys are.

I had to laugh on Saturday as the police on Duty in LP Foyer were eating Donuts but then they actually have a Do-nut Stand on the Foyer.
They Don't even have to cross the road to Dunkin,

Some things change and yet, they remain the same. hahaha

Well, at least a few of the PNP were not dunking donuts all week long, and at least a few bad guys got picked up off the streets and elsewhere.

Hope their buddies at the donut shop left them a few....

All joking apart though and Talking to my neighbours a PNP PO1 and his uncle an Inspector at NBI they have not had many more arrests and cases than the Norm but have all received notice of vacation date movement and last minuet shift changes. Seems that this upsurge in Activity from PNP and the threat of this gang arriving has spurred the Brass to be more aware of things that are happening.
I know we can all moan about things here but it is a thankless job that I certainly would not want and I just hope that open warfare does not rein on them.
Putting Armed villains in a Corner can have sometimes bad results. Lets wish them well in their quest to make Dumaguete & Area at least, a safer place to Live and bring our Children up in.
