So! it looks like it is finally going to happen But as I read it ONLY because of the deal done with Robinson's on the Lease. One has to Wonder if it will close when the Lease Expires. Another, Watch this Space, To my mind, another little niggle about the one island issue, if you read the Article I think you may see what I mean! Bacalod,Bacalod, Bacalod. TTL I really have no Idea apart from Passport applications and I tend to think our locals will still have to go to Bacalod or Cebu for Interview and Seminar, Most likely the same as our Immigration office Not a lot more than a lip service. But from reading the Press release it gives 15 people a job. I am looking at the DFA Website to see if I can find out just what a Regional DFA Office can do. I will post if I come up with much else. Wouldn't you know Site down! but here is what a RDFA should be able to do based on this about Bacalod. REGIONAL CONSULAR OFFICE - BACOLOD It is a click around site so click away guys and Gals. JP
DFA pretty much only for processing passports. If they send people to Bacolod or Cebu for the interrogation (interview) though its pretty much useless as that's the core thing that would make it of use. However I'm not so sure that it will ever open up as its been being put together in Robinsons for the last year and a half.
I personally know the officer in charge of DFA Dumaguete and as of today she does not know when the office in Robinsons mall will be open for customers but once open will provide all and full DFA services
Their problems will start when they meet their public any job customer facing is easy when you don't have a line (Queue) JP
