Recently purchased a flight from DC to Manila through Emirates for the 12th. I was able to get it for 820 USD (I think that is pretty good). A short stop in Dubai then arrive in Manila around 10:30 at night on the 13th. Total travel time is 23 hours 15 minutes. Will have to stay in Manila for a night. I got the afternoon flight to Dumaguete so that I can try to get to immigration to get that 6 month tourist visa. Hopefully if I get there early enough I will be able to get that done in a half day.

Having a hell of a time getting these bags within the weight limits for my domestic flight today.

Delta Baggage Weight Limit (my domestic flight today):

    50 lbs (23 kg) Each
2 bags free to the Philippines
$25 first bag / $35 second bag for domestic flights.

    Emirates Baggage Weight limit:
    Philippines Airlines Baggage Weight Limit:

I'm not sure. It is either 10, 20 or 25kg. I ordered the tickets on Expedia so I'm not sure which level of economy I fall under. The ticket to Dumaguete was purchased separately so I don't think I fall under their international policy...but I will try to convince them that I do.

Anyone know what the excess baggage fees are for Philippines Airlines? Didn't seem to be listed for domestic flights on their website.

My lasts trip in 2012 was about 30 peso a kilo but that was over 3 years ago.

I guess others may have a better costing.
I had no luck in the International argument but as usual it depends on the Officer of the day.:whistling:

I'm not absolutely certain, but I seem to remember the last time I got caught out by PAL and had to pay at the airport it cost me around P200 / kg

Returned on CP with 10k excess at a cost of 450p a kilo. Hope PAL is less, suggest wearing more clothes and get a separate plastic bag from an airport store and put some things in it like you just purchased them, worked for me by suggestion of the airline counter person.
