 Someone please help Jack out here today, in the UK Life is usually about 25+ years and the convicted are told a minimum, Odd, to me, life is life but....... here they normally say Life without parole, so again to me, that is Life, now here we have a paper report that says 2 men get Life + fines of 500.000
    DAILY STAR: Negros Oriental
Then it goes on to say they also got another 12 years and 400.000 fines. Come on, is it me or do we have a judge that can add another 12 years to someones life expectancy?
Or do they do the 12 years first then if they haven't Died, they then Sit there in prison for the rest of their life.

In any event, if they are in Prison how do they earn ( Legally or illegally) this 900.000 in fines? (collectively)
:stop: Maybe if they paid the fines they get a "Get out of jail card" or am I reading to many Corruption Articles:rolleyes:

Maybe it is me but Some days I sits and Wonders and some days I just Sits.

    JP :bag:

Interesting points Jack. My uneducated guess is that each crime one is guilty of needs to be assigned a sentence. If by chance the life sentence was successfully appealed or whatever, they would still have to serve the lesser sentence, or something like that Or given the Philippines is a Catholic country, maybe the 12 year sentence will be served in purgatory.

I think you have hit the nail on the head here Jack. I mean it makes perfect sense to me!
I wish I had some answers. All I can say is it appears many Western Countries are so full up with red tape, countless regs, and politics that when it comes to the penal system common sense is completely out the window.
I heard a story on the radio the other day, that the great state of California has authorized it's first gender reassignment surgery/treatment to an inmate. We already blow many times more on each inmate than we do our students. Now we get to spend countless more tax dollars on some convicted felon transjenner!
Inmates can already father children conceived during conjugal visits...they are welfare babies literally from moment one!
This is just the tip of the iceberg.

Moving on just a little from this story, Given the speed that pushers are getting nabbed & into court and the sentences being dished one would think they would be a little more careful who they deal with.But....................:jawdrop: Cops seize P1.1M ‘shabu' in Dumaguete

Glad I can stick to my [IMG] Kin sight cheaper and safer all round what?
