Merv, Opposite Cangs Branch up from Lee Plaza, there is a Camera shop and Barbers owned by my Wife's Cousin. Good value and Service, both on Cameras and Hair Cuts.

might not be your problem but i had a lens retraction problem and i went to the camera shop across from cangs that jack mentioned, they wanted p2500 just to look at it, no guarantee they could fix it.. (gulp)

i searched ''lens won't retract casio ex-h10x'' (or something like that) on the i'net and found a lot of videos on youtube and i ''fixed'' it by sliding a piece of thin paper between the lens elements to dislodge some debris.

the i'net can be pretty cool sometimes, eh...

I had this same problem with my camera. I lived in Cebu at the time. they also charged P2500 with no guarantee. All it needed was a good cleaning but has to be taken apart for that. I didn't know how to disassemble so I paid. that has been 2 years ago and no more problems. Depends on how much it is worth to you. A new one will cost more is the way I looked at it.

There is the need to have specialized tool set to remove those weirdly tiny Japanese screws located in more weird places. Not to mention the need for a skill set and knowledge base to have the confidence of opening up these gadgets. Micro miniature repair costs about P2500 ... fair deal to me.

wow, replaced with a new model and free? was it still under warranty?

salute to Canon for doing so. A few years back, I had my Nikkor lenses sent to Nikon in Tokyo, but they simply advised me to buy a new one.

I just tried this place last week Jack. I had my wife to deal with them though because I always seem to get charged more no matter what kind of transaction I make. Thanks for the info. Good service and reasonable price.
