Hello members, I will be flying into Cebu with my wife and daughter in the coming months and wanted to know if it is best to fly onward to Dumaguete or take the ferry and what is the price difference if known? Also we wanted to spend about 5 days to a week in Cebu to familiarize ourselves with Immigration, Hospitals and a bit of the sights. Are there any any Hotels that are recommended both for price, quality and location and or any to stay clear of? Should I book them in advance from the States or wait upon arrival? Thanks for any and all input and valuable information. This Forum and it's members are great and extremely helpful and friendly and we hope we are welcomed the same way upon arrival after meeting some ex pats that live there. Thanks again everyone.
Does any one have the current fare cost for Flying? I may need to do a 1 day Quicky at the end of next month so that would come in handy to know
I would fly due to back problems. No way would I ride on a ceres bus for 5 hours to cebu city. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
I think he was considering flying or going by boat. Cebu Pacific has a flight on the 9th for 1.2k. The overnight ferry costs around 1k and takes 6-7 hours. If I remember correctly the fast craft (Cebu-Bohol-Dumaguete) costs around 1.2k for a one way and takes around 2-3 hours.
Bayfront Hotel right across from SM is above mid range. Fuente Pension Hotel is near Mango Square and about 1300p. Check in time is when you arrive so it is convenient if early arrival. I like the staff and location and a free small breakfast for one day. I always book on arrival so you can see the room. Taxi to Ayala Mall and the immigration is in a small mall too. S&R wholesale club is like Costco from U.S., about 1km from SM. Have a nice trip.
I'd advise to always check out a hotel room before you agree to stay, and know that they'll always show you their worst room first!
Thank you very much for all the information and details. Looks like you may have made my life a bit easier upon arrival.
Do bear in mind when flying from Cebu to Dumaguete by Cebu Pacific your check in luggage is limited to 20 kg only, overweight( which is being charged normally) not allowed as CP operates this flight with an ATR72 machine.
Ahhhh so I'll get slammed with overage charges or maybe not be able to take all the luggage due to excessive weight? So Ferry is the way to go then? yea I am answering my own questions as your reply was pretty straight forward. Thanks for you informative answer my friend.
