I've been reading reading this forum for some time now and found it educational as well as entertaining. Born in the U.S. of Filipino descent, I keep a place in Dumaguete as well as in Chicago. Originally came here to develop products from locally sourced materials to be used here as well as for export. If anybody has any experience or knows where I can pick up some knowledge re: this type of enterprise, I'd be very interested in any advice, etc. Looking forward to being a part of the conversation here!
Welcome to the forum, I have had an idea for a few years that just may work for you. As I'm sure you know there are many Filipino's all over the States, possibly there would be a big market for the Christmas decorations that are very popular here. Just an idea.... Ron
Welcome to the forum. Is you mother a Filipina? That would certainly help out with any business you were wanting to start here in the Philippines. (You could get dual citizenship.) If not you can own 100% of a business that solely exports out of the Philippines as well.
Btw, I would think locally made bamboo products/artwork would be a good export that you could make a good profit from in the US. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Thank you for the warm welcome! My mother and father are Filipino and were naturalized before I was born. It would be great to be able to attain dual citizenship but I learned that in order to qualify for dual citizenship the application would have to have been made before the age of 18. Sadly that was decades ago. If there was a way to get around this I would.
"A foreign national, who wishes to be acknowledged as a Filipino citizen, whose father and/or mother was/were Filipino citizen/s at the time of the applicant’s birth." Filipino Citizenship Application I don't think it matters what your age is...only that they were citizens at the time of your birth. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
There seems to be a definite shortage of Serving Spoons and Forks of any real durability Plenty of Bamboo and other and other resources but no end product that seems to fit the the Bill (Well for me anyway) longer handles ones seem to be a missing article. (Salad's come to mind here) For me I prefer Wood to Metal. Best of Luck JP
Thank you. One of my product ideas is an inside out candle, basically a cylinder of wax wrapped in cotton fabric... very bright and somewhat impervious to wind. This would be great for Christmas/Honnukah as well as other celebrations.
